Μέρα 6 - Day 6

Σήμερα συζητήσαμε για την αναχώρηση καθώς επίσης για τις Μ.Κ.Ο. των συμμετεχόντων και για τις δραστηριότητες τους. Μετά το γεύμα παρουσιάστηκαν ιδέες για μελλοντικά προγράμματα και έγινε μια άτυπη αξιολόγηση των μεθόδων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν κατά την περασμένη εβδομάδα. Το βράδυ θα γίνει το αποχαιρετιστήριο πάρτυ, καθώς και η απονομή των βεβαιώσεων παρακολούθησης.



Today we discussed about the practical matters of our departure and we had our NGO fair in which we talked about our organizations and their activities. After lunch, we presented our ideas about the future projects and we talked about the whole week, the good practices we shared and the methods and tools we used and suggested. For dinner today, we had a huge BBQ and we ate, talked, drank and spent our last night together…

Μέρα 5 - Day 5

Η σημερινή μέρα ήταν κατά το ήμισυ ελεύθερη κι έτσι αφού ενημερωθήκαμε για το πρόγραμμα “Νέα Γενιά σε Δράση”, ακολούθησε γεύμα και επίσκεψη στα λουτρά της περιοχής. Στη συνέχεια είχαμε δείπνο σε μπουφέ που είχε κανονιστεί από το δήμαρχο Αριδαίας και επιστρέψαμε στο ξενοδοχείο.


Today we were informed about “youth in action” by Alex and after that we were divided in groups and worked on future projects of any topic that inspired us. Since it was a free half-day today, after lunch we went to the hot springs of the area and then the mayor had arranged a buffet where we had dinner and the local bus took us to the hotel after that where we spent our night at will.

Μέρα 4 - Day 4

Σήμερα ξεκινήσαμε με μια συνεδρία για τον διαπολιτισμικό διάλογο, όπου συζητήσαμε για τις απαιτήσεις του και ζητήθηκε από τον καθένα να μοιραστεί μια αστεία ιστορία για άλλες κουλτούρες σε σχέση με τη δικιά του. Στη συνέχεια χωριστήκαμε σε ομάδες και παίξαμε το “May I come in?”, ένα παιχνίδι ρόλων όπου ο καθένας μπορούσε να είναι μετανάστης, αστυνομικός ή παρατηρητής. Μετά το μεσημεριανό μελετήσαμε μια υπόθεση σχετικά με την εργασιακή εκμετάλλευση ανηλίκων, και προσπαθήσαμε να βρούμε υλοποιήσιμες λύσεις που θα μπορούσαν να διορθώσουν την κατάσταση. Η καλύτερη στιγμή της ημέρας ήταν όταν παίξαμε το “Sex and the city”, όπου μας δινόταν μια ιστορία και οι ομάδες έπρεπε να γράψουν και να παίξουν μια δική τους εκδοχή για τέλος. Το βράδυ προμηνύεται ακόμη καλύτερο καθώς ακολουθεί πάρτυ μασκέ και καραόκε.


Today we started with a session on intercultural dialogue where we discussed about its definition and its demands, we talked about jokes on other cultures and we all had a joke or a story to share. After that, Christos-our trainer introduced us to a role playing game called “Can I come in?” and we were divided in 3 groups: the observers, the immigrants and the officers. It was really really fun and as the people commented later in the debriefings, it was very close to reality. After lunch we did a case study of child laboring where we tried to provide solutions for this phenomenon and although it was hard, it broadened our horizons in the end. The best part came later when we played “Sex and the City” where we were supposed to create a script about a homosexual 21 year old boy who decided to come out to his family. Again, we were divided in groups and we acted. It was so so great!!! After dinner, we started preparing masks and costumes for the costume party at night which would include karaoke. It was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C! The fun we had was incredible, and nobody even thought about sleeping!

Μέρα 3 - Day 3

Χθες είχαμε την Διαπολιτισμική Βραδιά, όπου φάγαμε, ήπιαμε και γλεντήσαμε! Έτσι σήμερα ήταν ώρα για δουλεία και ξεκινήσαμε με μία συζήτηση για τις καταβολές της ξενοφοβίας. Στη συνέχεια χωριστήκαμε σε δύο ομάδες και παίξαμε τους “Derdians”, ένα παιχνίδι όπου οι συμμετέχοντες καλούνται να υποδυθούν πως ανήκουν σε δύο διαφορετικούς πολιτισμούς και να χτίσουν μια γέφυρα μεταξύ τους. Μετά το γεύμα είχαμε ένα energizer και το “κάνε ένα βήμα μπροστά”, που είναι ένα παιχνίδι ρόλων, που σε βάζει στη θέση του άλλου. Ακολούθησε ένα καταπληκτικό εργαστήριο όπου γράψαμε σενάρια (θρίλερ, κομωδία, καρτούν, σαπουνόπερα και παντομίμα), με τα οποία κάναμε και σκετσάκια. Η μέρα κλείνει με την αξιολόγηση και την προβολή της γερμανικής ταινίας “Το κύμα”.


Last night really went great! We ate, drank and danced with the local people at the square and they enjoyed it so much that they gave us free products from their shops! Today it was time for some contemplation and that is why our trainer and we had an open conversation about the origins of xenophobia, what causes it and common misconceptions and myths that prevail in every country about the “strangers”. Everyone had a story to share or a situation to describe and there were agreements and disagreements that took the topic forward and gave the opportunity to many opinions to be heard. Then we were divided into 2 groups and played the “Derdians” which is a game that puts you in the position of a culture different than yours and you have to learn about it and build a bridge between yours and the culture of the other. Then we had delicious steaks for lunch and we came back with an in the position of the “other”. After that, we did an amazing workshop where we wrote small scripts (horror film, comedy, cartoon, soap opera and pantomime) based on objects that represented us and we acted!!! Everyone was excited with this activity and we had the chance to express ourselves artistically and in the most creative way! Then the debriefing followed, everyone was satisfied, we had dinner and then since it was a movie night, we watched “Die Welle” (The wave) which gave us a better understanding of how easily people.

Μέρα 2 - Day 2

Σήμερα συνεχίσαμε με τις δραστηριότητες και πήραμε φακέλους με σημειωματάρια, στυλό κτλ. Στη συνέχεια “υπογράψαμε” το συμβόλαιο με τους κανόνες του σπιτιού. Μετά από δραστηριότητες όπως το παιχνίδι με τις ασπίδες ή αυτό με τα μπαλόνια, είχαμε ένα διάλογο σχετικά με τον ορισμό της λέξης “ξένος” και το πώς ξεκίνησε η “ξενοφοβία”. Το μεσημεριανό φαγητό ακολούθησε ένα πολύ ενδιαφέρον εργαστήριο με τη δημιουργία και παρουσίαση κόμικς, παραστάσεων, κολάζ και τραγουδιών σχετικά με την ξενοφοβία. Ακολουθεί το δείπνο και η διαπολιτισμική βραδιά με φαγητά, ποτά και μουσική από τις συμμετέχουσες χώρες.


Today we went over the activities of the day and they gave us our envelopes with the note pads, the pens etc. We formed our own “contract” with the rules of his training and we finger-painted our signatures underneath! Then we played the “shield” game in which we talked about ourselves in pairs. Our country, what we like, about our organisation and our dreams. Then we played the “balloon” game in order to learn our names even better and after that we wrote and talked about our fears, our strengths and our expectations from this training. When we finished, one of the new trainers introduced himself and we talked about the definition of the “other” which is the meaning of the word “xenos” in Greek, and the beginning of the word “xenophobia”. Then we had lunch as usual, we had an energizer and started a wonderful workshop where 6 groups created comics, plays, collages, songs and constructions about xenophobia and as the participants said during the debriefing later, they enjoyed the process so much that they didn’t feel tired at all! We had just had dinner and now we are getting ready to spend an intercultural evening at the square of the village of Orma! I can’t even imagine the faces of the villagers when they see a bunch of English-speaking young people interacting in the middle of the square!

Μέρα 1 - Day 1

Τι μέρα κι αυτή! Μετά το μεσημεριανό θα είχαμε τη συνάντηση που θα ξεκινούσε το training “Ξενοφοβία-Ξενοφιλία” στην Όρμα Αριδαίας (Ελλάδα), και διοργανώνεται από τις Ενωμένες Κοινωνίες των Βαλκανίων. Ξεκινήσαμε με 25 συμμετέχοντες από Σερβία, Ισπανία, Βουλγαρία, Τουρκία Ρουμανία, και Βοσνία και αρχικά έπρεπε να κόψουμε σελίδες από περιοδικά και εφημερίδες που μας αντιπροσωπεύουν, να τα κολλήσουμε στο στήθος και να μιλήσουμε για την επιλογή μας, ενώ κρατούσαμε ένα κομμάτι σπάγγο πού συνέδεε τις χώρες. Ως Μεσόγειοι είχαμε πολλές εικόνες φαγητού φυσικά! Και μια εικόνα με αγελάδες (η οικογένεια της Μαρίας όπως είπε). Και όταν όλοι αρχίσαμε να αισθανόμαστε πιο άνετα και να γελάμε μας ζητήθηκε να φτιάξουμε μια κατασκευή στην οποία θα τοποθετούσαμε ένα αυγό το οποίο δεν έπρεπε να σπάσει με πτώση από τα 2 μέτρα και δεν ήταν καθόλου εύκολο, καθώς έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε μόνο καλαμάκια και κολλητική ταινία. Προς εκπληξή μας κανένα αυγό δεν έσπασε, οπότε κάναμε καλή δουλειά! Στη συνέχεια αξιολόγηση και μετά δείπνο (τα αυγά ήταν πολύ καλά) και φυσικά η μέρα δεν έχει τελειώσει ακόμα…



Oh what a day! Early lunch at 13:30 and then we were supposed to do arts and crafts! I am talking about the first day of “Xenophobia-Xenophilia” training of course, which is taking place in Orma, Greece and is organized by the United Societies of Balkans. We started off with 25 people from Serbia, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey , Romania and Bosnia and we had to cut pictures from magazines and newspapers that represent us, stick it on our chest and talk about it while a piece of string was connecting every country. We had many pictures of food; aaah… the Mediterranean! And even photos of cows –Maria’s family as she said. And when we were all starting to feel more comfortable and to laugh, we were asked to form groups and build a device to protect a falling egg from breaking! Do you think this is an easy task? Well try to do it using straws and scotch-tape then! Surprisingly enough, group building worked and none of the eggs broke! But you should see the participants biting their nails when the egg was about to fall and then cheering for the success. When all eggs landed safely it was time to hit the showers because we were starting to form smelly groups and then debriefing to make sure that everyone was happy and satisfied. Now wonderful dinner is waiting for us downstairs, under the clear blue sky and the day is not yet! I wonder what kind of crazy tasks await for us tomorrow. The boiled eggs tasted great by the way…

"Ξενοφοβία-Ξενοφιλία" Όρμα Αριδαίας 6-12 Ιουλίου 2009 - "Xenophobia-Xenophilia" Orma Aridea 6-12 July 2009

Το Πρόγραμμα “Ξενοφοβία-Ξενοφιλία” είναι ένα σχέδιο κατάρτισης υπό τη Δράση 3.1.2 του οποίου οι στόχοι είναι η καταπολέμηση της ξενοφοβίας ως μορφής συμπεριφοράς απέναντι σε ο,τιδήποτε “ξένο”, η καλλιέργεια της ανεκτικότητας και της συνεργασίας και η δημιουργία μιας ενωμένης Ευρώπης, ανοιχτής σε καινούργιες ιδέες. Στη διάρκεια των 7 ημερών του προγράμματος, 23 συμμετέχοντες από 11 χώρες της Ευρώπης και των Βαλκανίων (Ελλάδα, Βουλγαρία, Σερβία, Βοσνία&Ερζεγοβίνη, Πολωνία, Τουρκία, Ουγγαρία, Ισπανία, Εσθονία,Π.Γ.Δ.Μ. και Γερμανία) θα συμμετάσχουν σε δραστηριότητες ώστε να πετύχουν τους σχεδιαζόμενους στόχους με τη χρήση διαφόρων μεθόδων μη-τυπικής μάθησης (παιχνίδια ρόλων, εργαστήρια, συζητήσεις, μελέτες περιπτώσεων και βιωματική μάθηση). Οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αποκτήσουν γνώσεις και να αναπτύξουν ικανότητες και συμπεριφορές για την καταπολέμηση της ξενοφοβίας απέναντι σε διάφορες ομάδες, συμπεριλαμβανομένων μεταναστών, προσφύγων, αιτούντων άσυλο, τουριστών αλλά και απέναντι σε διαφορετικά ήθη, έθιμα, πολιτιστικά στοιχεία, θρησκεία, γλώσσα και νέες τεχνολογίες και την αρμονική ενσωμάτωσή τους στις τοπικές κοινωνίες. Οι μέθοδοι και τα εργαλεία της μη-τυπικής μάθησης και της εκπαίδευσης στα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα θα χρησιμοποιηθούν ως μέσο για το σπάσιμο των προκαταλήψεων και την καταπολέμηση του ρατσισμού και τη διαμόρφωση της έννοιας της “ξενοφιλίας” ως συστατικό στοιχείο μιας κοινωνίας ελεύθερης από ξενοφοβικές συμπεριφορές. Οι συμμετέχοντες, τέλος, θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να σχεδιάσουν νέα σχέδια δράσης. Ο σχεδιασμός των σχεδίων δράσης θα ανταποκρίνεται τόσο στις ιδιαίτερες ανάγκες των τοπικών κοινωνιών τους όσο και στις προκλήσεις διεθνών συνεργασιών.

“Xenophobia-Xenophilia” is a training under Action 3.1.2 whose objectives are to fight against xenophobia, perceived as the type of behaviour towards anything “foreign”, to foster tolerance and cooperation and to create united Europe, open to new ideas. During the 7 days of the programme, 23 participants form 11 countries of Europe and the Balkans (Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Spain, F.Y.R.O.M. Esthonia and Germany) will be involved in activites in order to achieve the planned objectives through the use of various methods of non-formal education (role-plays, workshops, discussions, case studies and experiential learning). The participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop abilities and behaviours so as to fight xenophobia towards many groups of people, including immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and tourists, as well as towards different customs, cultural elements, religions, languages and new technologies, and their harmonious intergation in their local societies. The methods and tools of non-formal education and of human right education will be used as means for breaking prejudice and fighting against racism and for the formation of the term “xenophilia” as constituent element of a xenophobia-free society. Finally, the participants will have the opportunity to work on the planning of of new projects. The plan for the implementation of new projects will correspond both to the particular needs of their local societies and to the challenges of international cooperations.
